Hallows Eve Caramel Pie!

Oh yes.  It's Halloween!  One of our favorite holidays at Spoonfudge!

As someone from the west coast, I'd never heard of caramel pie until moving to the east and eating at O'Charlie's.  How on EARTH the west coast hasn't adopted love for caramel pie is beyond me.  I figured out how to make it on my own, and now it's my favorite pie to make during the fall-ESPECIALLY with some Spoonfudge! mixed into the whipped topping.

To make a caramel pie, you need a few easy to find ingredients:
Graham cracker crust (Flavor of choice)
Sweetened condensed milk
Whipped topping
Spoonfudge!

You take the cans of sweetened condensed milk, take the labels off of the cans, and put them in a pot.  Cover the cans with water, put the lid on the pot, and bring to a boil.  Boil the cans for at least 2 hours, and up to four hours, adding water as needed to keep the cans covered.  When your cans have boiled for as long as you can stand to wait, turn off the water and take the cans out.  Let the cans cool, open them up, and spread that caramel deliciousness into the pie crust.

Now, for the topping, I used the Pumpkin Spice flavor of Spoonfudge! because, well, pumpkin spice & caramel go together like, well, inhaling and exhaling.  Take the whipped topping, throw it into a mixer, and put a few dallops of Spoonfudge! in with it.  Mix it up until it's a uniform consistency, and spread it on top of the pie.  Put the pie into the fridge to get all cool and happy, and you're done!

And I kid you not, whenever I make this pie I get LOADS of compliments.  You just can't go wrong!

Happy Halloween from all of us at Spoonfudge!

Fall Poundcake With Spoonfudge Icing

I have a pretty inappropriate infatuation with poundcake.  It is SO adaptable to any situation, whether it's a baby shower or a girl's get together.  There are endless flavor combinations and toppings-and Spoonfudge! is the perfect mate.

Every year, I bake a poundcake for my neighbor's birthday.  Some years it's flavored, some years it's fruited-every year it's different.  This year, I made her a plain sour cream poundcake.  I looked at this poundcake, and thought, "Poundcake, you seem lonely.  Let me fix it."

So I did.  I smothered it with Rolo Spoonfudge.

It was pretty ridiculous.

People that don't even like frosting, like my neighbor, LOVE Spoonfudge!  It makes a great gift-and makes a great topping on a gift as well!

Will you be making any fall treats with Spoonfudge this year?

SWEET Fall flavors

We've seen the beautiful Harvest Moon, leaves are falling, the air is a little crisper.....that means fall is upon us! We Spoonfudge! gals LOVE fall. There are so many reasons. Football, campfires & s'mores, cuddly sweaters come out of storage just in time to cover the extra love handles that come from the s'mores and tasting all things pumpkin!
So we've chosen some flavors that speak to all those senses that fall seems to awaken. We hope you guys like them to.

We're also so excited about the upcoming release of our friend, Jordan K. Rose's new book,  "Eva Prim". We've created a Spoonfudge! flavor in her honor, called Eva's Sweet Fang. Its a decadent blend of chocolate and red velvet. A flavor fit for a vampire with a sweet fang!

You can order on our website @ www.spoonfudge.com

Happy Fall Y'all!!

Spoonfudge! Whoopie Pies

Spoonfudge! Whoopie Pies

Y'all, these are RIDICULOUS.  No joke.  And they're pretty easy, to be honest.  These whoopie pies may look like your regular run of the mill whoopies, but they are SO much more delicious-the middle is filled with a frosting spiked with Spoonfudge!

I created my whoopie pies with brownie mix.  I made the mix as directed on the box, and added 2 cups of flour.  (Quick note: In place of water I ALWAYS add coffee)

Baked them, and then got to work on the frosting.

I took a container of "Whipped Topping" (Whatever brand suits you) and added 1 jar to each half.  I wanted to try two different flavors.

I used the caramallow and the heavenly buttercup.

I slathered some in the middle of each sandwich, and voila!  Each half made about 12 whoopie pies-definitely enough to share!  I may or may not have shared mine.  I'm not telling!

WE'RE NUTS FOR DONUTS!!

We're nuts for donuts at Spoonfudge!, the Shoppe & Café!! We love the idea of taking something so deliciously simple and making it even better! Its like when Queenie's hair already looks good, but she can't stop there....she has to have some type of hair accessory...frosting, I guess. Just to add a little extra oomph!

We glaze our donuts in a variety of Spoonfudge! flavors. Chocolate, Pearly Gates (cheesecake), Salted Caramel., we like to get crazy with them too.

This is our Samoa Cookie donut. You know those Samoa Girl Scout cookies that you can get and sit in a dark room and eat the entire box? Okay....maybe its just US...anyway, this is our version.

We're moms to young, silly kids who love to eat all the sugary cereals. We thought the
Cereal Killer donut would be a fun addition for kids of ALL ages. It's the first donut in the case that kids ask for when they see it. Glazed in chocolate or white chocolate fudge, then covered in different kinds of cereal favorites.

The Porky's donut is the donut that started all the madness for us. Its dipped in our Canadian Maple Spoonfudge! then covered in crispy bacon pieces. The best of both worlds. PRAISE THE LARD!! :)

You can "FROST" up your own Spoonfudge! donut at home. Just log onto www.spoonfudge.com to order your favorite flavor.

A Spoonfudge Summer

Summer is still a GREAT time for fudge.  Spoonfudge! constantly updates it's flavors, and we've come up with some stellar renditions for summer.

Personally, I LOVE using Spoonfudge in frostings.  It's amazing.  I used lemon chiffon pie for this most recent batch of cupcakes (For my 4th of July party), but you could use any flavor you wanted!  I'd personally give my right arm for an orange cupcake with "Orange Push Up Real Good" frosting.

The frosting gives it a hint of flavor without giving it that flavor extract taste.  They're just perfect!  Even just putting a dallop in (or on) a cupcake is perfect.  I'm always asked for my frosting recipe, and almost every time I make it I include a few spoonfuls of Spoonfudge!.

What will YOU be adding Spoonfudge! into this summer?  Let us know your ideas in the comments!

Our Signature Drink...The Fudgey Freeze

The Chocolate Fudgey Freeze

Customers who come visit us at the shoppe have chosen the Fudgey Freeze as one of their favorite treats! Its a frozen blend of your favorite Spoonfudge! flavor, milk and ice. Our version of a milkshake or frozen hot chocolate (if you get the chocolate version of course.) But with the bonus of little chunks of Spoonfudge!!

The flavor possibilities range from Caramel Coffee, Blueberry Cheesecake, Chocolate Peanut Butter, even Pina Colada or Strawberry Banana. Yummers!

You can make one of these decadent drinks at home too! Just order your favorite flavor on our website. Then when you receive it, add it to some milk and ice and crank that blender up! Make sure you put the lid on the blender though!! :) We admit it...we've showered in a Fudgey Freeze explosion once or twice. Don't judge us! haha

Peace, love & Spoonfudge! y'all

Fathers Day

It's almost Father's Day!  I love Father's Day.  There's something sublimely intimate about the relationship between a father and a child-and taking a day to celebrate that is amazing.

My dad is a huge chocolate fan, and I remember when I was a child growing up, we would sit together at night and eat ice cream together while watching a corny movie or show on TV.  I'd pile my ice cream up with whipped cream, and slowly make ice cream "Soup" out of it, savoring the melted chocolate/whipped cream goodness.

This year, I'm far away from my father, but I'll grab a bowl of ice cream, top it with some spoonfudge, and Skype with him.  :)  If you haven't tried it, Spoonfudge + ice cream is AMAZING, and hopefully later this summer I'll add some in to homemade ice cream.

Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there.
